چکیده

Tranexamic acid (TXA) is an antifibrinolytic, commonly utilized in orthopedic procedures for the purpose of reducing perioperative bleeding and need transfusion. The this double-blinded randomized controlled trial was to evaluate use TXA patients undergoing TTO reduce post-operative intra-articular hemarthrosis. A double-blind conducted who underwent TTO. Fifty were equally control experimental groups. group received two 1-gram boluses IV TXA, one prior tourniquet inflation wound closure; did not receive TXA. following outcomes documented: blood loss (cc), postoperative hemarthrosis Visual Analog Scale (VAS) on days (POD) 1-7 visits (POV) 1-3, opioid consumption POD (morphine mg equivalents), range motion (ROM) ability straight leg raise (SLR) at POV pre- thigh circumference ratio (TCR). There no significant difference found between groups (64.25cc v. 60cc, p=0.38). No statistical significance observed patient demographic characteristics. All available first evaluation. 3 knees aspirated each groups; with (3.3cc 14cc, p=0.09). Significantly reduced levels pain seen throughout week both (p=0.022, p<0.0001), but reduction VAS score (p=0.15). noted by end (120.21mg 120.58mg, p=0.5). ROM or SLR all three visits. nor TCR (p=0.15, p=0.70). Intravenous undergo does significantly impact loss, hemarthrosis, levels. Additionally, ROM, SLR, TCR.

Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy

The patellofemoral joint presents a complex challenge to the surgeon. There are many surgical options for treatment, but none is universally successful in all cases. Tibial tubercle osteotomy has a long history in the distal approach to treating patellar problems. The current approach to the patellofemoral joint continues to evolve. Previous standard measurements and treatments are being re-exa...

The tibial tubercle (interchangeable with tuberosity) is the most distal anchor of the extensor mechanism and can serve as a tool in altering patellofemoral (PF) mechanics. Known collectively as distal realignment procedures, osteotomies of the tibial tubercle are a useful method to treat a variety of PF conditions by allowing coronal, axial, and sagittal plane adjustments of the patellofemoral...

Incidence of Deep Venous Thrombosis After Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy

BACKGROUND Tibial tubercle osteotomy (TTO) is performed in a predominantly young and often female population due to the prevalence of patellofemoral disorders in this group. While considered a procedure that falls within the realm of sports surgeries, the procedure can carry significant morbidity, including infection, fracture, and deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The incidence of postoperative DVT ...
